Swooning is an understatement. Ann Burtseva created a mesmerizing ceremony and reception setup that oozes romance amongst the historic European architecture. Your heart will be singing after perusing these gorgeous photos.

From the photographer, Martina Skrobot Photography + planner, We Do Agency: The charming Svetlana Gavriluk and the hockey player Valery Nichushkin’s celebration took place on a sunny day on June 1 in the southern Croatia, in the city of Dubrovnik, at the historical Villa Sheherezade. A long time ago bride visited that villa and since then it was her dream to get married there.

The celebration started with the welcome event at one of the restaurants in Old Town, where guests got the chance to get to know each other better and were introduced to authentic Croatian cousin and local wines. Besides the invitation, detailed program of all events and recommendation for the dress code, the guests also received personalized guides which were called “8 Best Things To Do in Dubrovnik”. The route included historical and cultural places, excursions, local legends, original souvenirs and places to explore local cuisine.s

The ceremony took place under the open sky against breathtaking backdrop of Adriatic Sea. The color palette for the wedding was: calm cream, classic white, bright shades of purple. Instead of a classical arch, Ann Burtseva created a circular construction, which was decorated with gentle shades of fluffy pampas grass. The bride and groom literally split one pair of wings into two. Floral compositions truly highlighted the landscape and the quiet nature of Dubrovnik.

The bride walked down the aisle carrying a bouquet of white peonies, which perfectly complemented her dress. Svetlana found her dress at Wedding Rooms after trying many of dresses from famous designers, but nothing really cought her attention until she saw a simple dress, that was light and comfortable, exactly what she wanted. To make it more special for the ceremony, bride completed it with skirt from Millanova.

After a touching ceremony, guests enjoyed local delicacies companied by Croatian wine, followed by gala reception under the open sky, in the shade of palm trees overlooking historic landscapes. Instead of traditional escort cards, we decided to personalize guest menus in order to emphasise the importance of each guest to the couple.

We especially love the floral wings during the ceremony so if you’re wracking your brain trying to think of ways to make your ceremony more impactful or meaningful, we’ve got a list of 10 for ya!
